Optimum Mastering is a Grammy Award-winning mastering studio in the dockside city of Bristol. Since opening in 2004, we have established a worldwide reputation for personal service and attention to detail. Our engineers have half a century’s worth of experience turning good music into great records. From hit singles to memorable albums, dance floor fillers to movie soundtracks. We offer a bespoke mastering service tailored to your needs, either attended by appointment or from the comfort of your own home. Mastering services for all formats including on-site vinyl lacquer cutting. Engineers
After starting his career at The Exchange, and working at other studios including Porky's, Masterpiece & Heathmans throughout the 90s and early 2000s, Shawn moved to Bristol to build his own studio and started Optimum in 2004. His key credits include J Dilla, Portishead, Pete Rock, Phantogram, Roy Ayers & many more.
Cameron spent several years as the Studio Manager at Optimum, before making the jump into the studio as our third engineer. Over the last few years he’s notched up numerous credits as both a mastering and cutting engineer, with highlights including Frankie Knuckles and King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard.
Rhys began his career at recording studios (Moles & Toybox), working alongside the likes of Dan Austin, Gil Norton & Ali Chant. After a brief stint as Studio Manager at Optimum he transitioned into the studio, learning the craft from both Jack Adams & Shawn Joseph.
